Details

An event to raise money for the Prince's Trust and sponsored by BT who were marking their 10th anniversary as a privatised company.

There was a long list of performers, who all only played one or two numbers each, including Kylie Minogue, East 17, Belinda Carlisle, Squeeze, The Kinks, Dave Stewart and band, Sophie B. Hawkins and Paul Young. Others appeared by video link including Joe Cocker, Meat Loaf, Phil Collins, Cliff Richard, M People and Bjorn Again. Comedians included Reeves & Mortimer, Lily Savage and John Shuttleworth.

Vic Reeves introduced Pulp: "Jarvis Cocker is very nearly an anagram of Elvis cock jar."
