So It Started There: Mae

It started two years ago (only!). I was cleaning my appartment and listening to some songs on Spotify when that weird, gloomy, orchestral song started. It catched my attention very quickly, especially when the lyrics kicked in; I was thinking "oh that's the kind of songs I like, it has such a strong narrative!". It was This Is Hardcore, and still to this day, I think it was the best way to get to know Pulp, I was surprised by how different every song was from another, and that changed my opinion on some kind of music I thought I disliked!

Then I learned about the band, started watching lots and lots of live stuff and they quickly became my number one on the list of bands I wanted to see live (so it was like a miracle when they announced very quickly that they were touring again this year!!). Got my tickets for Sheffield on the 14th, and waited patiently for july. The little cherry on top to this whole experience was when it was just on the eve of the gig, I won a ride on the now famous Pulp Bus and it really was the best thing ever. To be with all those passionnate people like me, singing/screaming Common People lyrics together like an anthem, then getting kind of interviewed for Pulp to see (I think?!). Just great and surreal. And the gig was just like I expected, if not more amazing. It was like a dream!

So now here we are. Pulp changed my life, their music helped me gaining confidence and try to care less about what people around me might think. They kind of helped me overcoming my shyness and that's why I'll cherish this band forever.
Today I run the Pulp Videos bot on Twitter so everyone can share those happy memories together and get hyped for the upcoming tour dates, and to finish... Let's all meet up for the year 2024 in Edinburgh!
