So It Started There: Robin L.

For the past year and a half I’ve been doing a site called “1001 Albums Generator”, that gives you a different album from the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die each day, and lets you rate them out of five. One day I got Different Class. I had been unlucky for a solid five days at that point, pulling albums that were between 1-3 stars for me, and I assumed this album, which from the Wikipedia blurb on the page really seemed like an album I would not enjoy, would continue the pattern. Needless to say, by the last note of Bar Italia, I knew I had heard one of my favorite albums of all time for the first time. I’ve only been into them for around 4 months now, but they’ve made the same impact on my life that other bands like XTC and They Might Be Giants also have. Let’s hope they’ll make another album soon! (If anybody is curious, my top 10 songs in no particular order are Babies, Common People, My Lighthouse, Fairground, Disco 2000, The Fear, Bad Cover Version, Sorted for E’s and Wizz, Wickerman, Love Love, and Mis-Shapes :3)
