Biography

Terry Baker played keyboards in Pulp when Candida briefly left during late 1986, possibly into the beginning of 1987. He was known in the band as 'Captain Sleep' because of his tendency to fall asleep on the way to and from gigs.

Prior to joining Pulp, he played guitar in the late '70s Manchester powerpop band Thunderboys, and in Mooksie Hoot & the Cocktail Party. Relocating to Sheffield in the early '80s, Mooksie Hoot also gigged under the name Crocodile Parlour. He also played in The Bloods.

He played around two gigs with Pulp, including the 100 Club in London. He also played a one-off gig with Jarvis at Sheffield Polytechnic, likely premiering some of the songs that were to end up on Separations.

Around the same time as playing in Pulp, he worked on, and occasionally co-presented, the Radio Sheffield music show ROTT. He left Sheffield in mid 1987.

He died in China in 2013.
