Tim McCall, guitarist in Jarvis' band, has died unexpectedly at the age of 37. He sustained fatal injuries caused by an accident at his home in Crosspool, Sheffield. He leaves behind a wife and baby daughter.
Tim joined Jarvis' band in autumn 2006, replacing his friend Richard Hawley, who was no longer available due to solo commitments. He played on all tracks recorded for Jarvis' latest album Further Complications and receives a songwriting credit on Leftovers and Pilchard. His previous bands included Pollinates, with Pulp drummer Nick Banks, and early 90s Sheffield band Various Vegetables, who along with Pulp, were on the Gift label.

Jarvis and his band plan to follow their residency earlier this year at Galerie Chappe in Paris with a similar event at London's Village Underground. The residency will take place between Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th November at the gallery, which is located at 54 Holywell Lane in Shoreditch. They will be present each day between around 12 noon and 6pm.
Like in Paris, activities will include members of the public participating in live musical improvisations, live musical accompaniment to exercise classes (for example, yoga and aerobics), and performances and improvisation with guest artists.
On the final evening there will be a concert starting at 20:00. For this tickets will be required, which can be obtained at Clubtickets.com for £30.00 plus a booking fee. Other events will presumably be free.
A live video stream is planned at www.jarviscocker.net.
EDIT: The schedule is here.

From 10th January 2010 Jarvis will present a weekly radio show on BBC 6 Music. His slot will be on Sunday afternoons between 15:30 and 17:30.
Jarvis:
It's that weird time when one week's effectively over and yet the new one's not yet begun - the 'limbo-hours' if you like.
It is my intention to fill these hours with as much dodgy opinion, crackpot theories, hare-brained schemes & beautiful, beautiful music as is humanly possible.
It's a great honour to be working for the BBC, which I consider to be the greatest broadcaster in the world.
