Pulp to receive an Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the NME Awards

It's been announced that Pulp will be presented with the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at this year's NME Awards. The ceremony will take place at the O2 Academy Brixton on 29th February.

Mexico City

Pulp will play Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City on Monday, 23rd April.

Jarvis received a warm welcome when he played solo in Mexico back in 2008, which may have been a factor in Pulp deciding to play a concert there for the first now.

The publicity pictures apparently do not feature Russell Senior, suggesting that he will not play. Russell's fear of flying prevented him from attending most of the 2011 shows that took place outside the UK.

More live dates announced

From official email message:

“Dunno mate - fantastic sight-lines though”

…are you sure you're ready for this?

  • 11 April - Radio City Music Hall, New York, USA
  • 13 April - Coachella, Indio, California, USA
  • 17 April - Warfield, San Francisco, USA
  • 20 April - Coachella, Indio, California, USA
  • 4 May - SOS Festival, Murcia, Spain

It remains to be seen whether Russell Senior will take part in these shows. His fear of flying prevented him from playing most non-UK shows last year. The 'Can we conquer our phobias?' message on the official site might imply that it is at least a possibility this time.

Paris book talk and signing

To celebrate the launch of his new book Jarvis Cocker will be talking about and reading from 'Mother, Brother, Lover', at Rough Trade On Tour chez agnès b.

Jarvis Cocker's first collection of selected lyrics will be presented by the man himself using PowerPoint and followed by a signing session.

This event will take place on Wednesday, 14th December at 7pm. The venue is the 'Rough Trade on tour' pop-up store, located at: Rough Trade chez agnès b, 6 Rue du Jour, 75001 Paris
